Can I choose who I sponsor?
When you choose your sponsorship, we will allocate a Christian family or child within that category. If you prefer to sponsor the education of a girl or a boy, please let us know and will do our best to accommodate your preference. However, this depends on the children currently available for sponsorship, so may not always be possible.
How long is my commitment?
For the Educate a Child and Feed a Family streams, there is no fixed time period. We hope that you will be happy to continue with your gifts for long enough to make a meaningful difference in the life of a child or family; for example, for a child to complete their education.
The commitment to Free a Family is approximately 18 months. However, because each family’s debt varies, the exact number of accumulated monthly gifts required to clear it depends on the size of the debt and the amount of each gift. It may therefore take more or fewer than 18 months to clear a specific family’s debt. Once the debt of the allocated brick kiln family is cleared, and if the monthly gifts continue, a new brick kiln family will be allocated.
Whichever stream you choose, you may stop your gifts at any time.
Will I receive updates?
Yes. You will receive two newsletters a year with general updates about the initiative you have chosen to support, together with suggestions for prayer. Supporters of the Educate a Child stream, will also receive occasional updates about their sponsored child.
Can I choose a child/family from a specific country for my sponsorship?
Currently, we are only offering children/families for sponsorship in Pakistan. If this changes in the future, it will be announced.
How do food parcels help Christians?
Each monthly food parcel contains enough staple food items to provide around 50% of a family’s food needs. This vital intervention allows families to spend money on other essentials, such as school fees or medical treatment.
Can I give more?
Absolutely – you are welcome to give more than the minimum amount to support more families or children.
Can I share Living Streams with my friends and family?
Absolutely – we encourage you to share Living Streams with others. Whether through a one-to-one conversation, a small group, or a church presentation, your advocacy can help more families and children receive life-changing support. We also provide printable resources which give further information and to help you spread the word. You can download them here.
Can I book a speaker to share Living Streams with my church?
Yes! One of our regional coordinators would be delighted to visit your church and share about the impact of Living Streams. To arrange a visit, simply contact us to book a speaker. We’ll then look to match you with a coordinator available in your area.
